One thing that's starting to get under my skin a little is the phrase "that said". People are always throwing it around in meetings, and it's rarely necessary. It's as if people started prefacing the things they say with "You said that, and now I'm going to say this." The next time you hear it, play the sentence back without "that said" and see if anything is lost. It's one of those things that sound kind of officious and measured without adding any meaning to the discussion. It's just posturing, dammit. And I won't have it, I tell you! Okay, yes I will, I'll have it.
