Swam across the harbor today. It was a beautiful day, the sky a little metallic, harbinger-time. And I felt like wearing myself out physically. So I just dove in. It's a long swim, made longer by having to tread water for ten minutes while a tugboat went by. And then I lost a shoe and had to root around in the muck about ten feet down before I found it. But when I climbed out on the Portsmouth side, I felt truly invigorated. I'll sleep well tonight!
