Lucy's post about how she needs to look people in the eye when talking to them got me thinking about how uncomfortable I am talking to someone wearing sunglasses. It's like there* wearing a mask or something, an evil clown mask. And not only do I not get any eye feedback from them, but I don't know where to look. If I look directly into the space where I'm guessing they're* eyes are at, I see my own reflection, which is even worse than an evil clown mask. Also, when they cover their ears and sing "La la la la la I can't hear you!" that puts me off a bit too.
*this misuse of "there/their/they're" is a tribute to my pal Steve, who has elevated such behavior to an art.
