It's a sad story. John McCain's eloquent and gracious concession speech last night reminded us that he once had a reputation for being a thoughtful and honest man. The boos and catcalls that still poured out from his crowd every time Obama's name was mentioned reminded us of McCain's ugly rabble-rousing during the campaign as he appealed to the baser instincts of his "base". Well, now he and his base will have plenty of time to think about the wisdom of appealing to the anger and fear of the American people in a time of crisis instead of their better nature. What was it that actor said? "It's morning in America again..."
