I'm assuming it's a coal train. It's coming from the coal piers. If it were coming from the maple syrup piers, then I might be justified in assuming it's a maple syrup train. Strictly speaking, it's an empty train. There would be little point in carrying trains full of coal to West Virginia, where they have plenty of the stuff. The management of Norfolk Southern has been wise indeed in their planning. Those of you who have been around this blog for a while will know exactly what's going on here: I'm treading water here, stalling for time with mindless chatter, hoping that I'll be stricken with inspiration, and my stream of consciousness will suddenly be populated with bobbing golden turds of wisdom. But it looks like it's not gonna happen today. You're free to feel lucky or unlucky, depending on your frame of mind.
