Used to be a given who would emerge victorious, but not so much these days. Not a slam dunk any more. When I'm wearing my philosopher's hat (that pointy cone one) I would maintain that part of the "problem" is that we see two warring factions in the first place. Who says? Humans are just as much a part of nature as geoducks and poison ivy. Sure, we've caused more disruption, but only by degree. Elephants have destroyed forests, volcanoes have fucked up the climate. Shit happens. The longer view you take, the more ephemeral notions like good and bad become. Was it a good thing or a bad thing that dinosaurs became extinct?
